It's too easy to sustain the armies in my opinion. The economy buffs are also a bit too strong. They even decimate dwarven units without issues. My wizards are my top scorers in terms of kills and impact by a large margin. That magic is overall useful is a plus, BUT the buffs went a bit too far. (Exaggerating a bit about Grimgor just to bring my point accross). In SF he could rip Khorne apart, with one hand strapped to his back, blindfolded, on one leg and dancing the jitterbug at the same time. Grimgor is a monster in the lore when it comes to fighting. That should never be the case on the highest difficulty. The battles are so easy that I can pay attention to a movie instead of having to focus on the game. the Chaos campaign on legendary feels like vanilla on normal (no joke). The cons: Some unit buffs are over the top. The map is more active, but it doesn't feel chaotic, at least not more than before.

The pros: I like the changes to a lot of units, since they feel more meaningful with them and some also make more sense in my eyes.Īlso that magic has a bigger impact is definitely a plus. What I'm not so sure I like is that the map feels so goddamn active it's honestly almost overwhelming.

In both of my previous campaigns Archaon just shits right in the Empires mouth. I love the fact that the factions seem to be balanced out better, I mean for godssake this is the first time I've ever seen the empire actually be on even ground with Chaos. High-tier troops, no less.ĮDIT THE SECOND: I've had a bit more time to gather my thoughts, and I'm sort of torn as to whether or not use it for my Wood Elf campaign. I've had battles that the balance bar tells me is literally 99%+ in my favor come out as close victories with me losing a ton of troops. Everything seems to be progressing MUCH faster now.ĮDIT: Also, autoresolve seems really screwy. Seems like everyone was throwing up multiple full stacks from the word go. While it is cool that the map seems more active than before, it also feels a lot more chaotic and over the top.
So far it feels kind of like a mixed bag. I'm at around turn 70 in my Dwarf campaign with Grombrindal, first time I've used the overhaul or played Dwarfs. I'd especially like to hear from people who have played with this mod for a while.
